THE JOY OF HOMEOWNERSHIP
I am a 28-year-old, African American female subscriber to BLACK ENTERPRISE. I have a moderate income and recently became a first-time homeowner. The home buying process was very enjoyable for me. Thanks to your magazine and the CDCLI (Community Development Corporation of Long Island), I was able to purchase a co-op in Jamaica Estates, New York for $75,000. I was given a $5,000 grant to put toward my down payment as well as an additional closing cost assistance loan. I am truly grateful for the experience and wanted to thank BLACK ENTERPRISE and the CDC for their expertise and diligence in preparing me for this process.
